5 Underrated English Novels Everyone should definitely Read

For an avid reader, books and novels are always a source of peace and happiness. They are the best friends and saviors you’ve always got by your side. And moreover, readers are always on the track of finding new and underrated books or novels to enlighten their mood. Here are some really good and easy reads which you will surely like.

1. Somewhere Out There by Amy Hatvany

Published in March 2016, Somewhere Out There is a gripping yet emotional book to read. What happens when a mother of two beautiful girls gives them away to the state. Reunited after 35 years and brought up in different circumstances, the sisters decided to find their mother and ask her this one question; Why? But will they find their long lost Mom? Or their question will always be unanswered? Read it yourself and don’t forget to keep a tissue box with you.

2. Ayesha At Last by Uzma Jalaluddin

Originally published on 12 June 2018, Ayesha At Last is a humorous, desi fiction novel about Ayesha who wants to be a poet but is currently busy teaching to pay her debts back to her uncle. In the meantime, her mother and aunt are on to find a suitable match for her. Ayesha being herself, have zero interest in getting married, her primary goal is to be independent. Read and find out if her mother and aunt are successful in finding a perfect match or she gets successful in being independent?

3. All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover

Colleen Hoover published this masterpiece on 17th July 2018 which was later nominated for Goodreads Choice Awards Best Romance. The book revolves around Quinn and Graham’s then and now love story dilemmas. Their perfect and beautiful marriage is threatened by fertility issues. Very originally written and wonderfully executed, you will be left teary-eyed at major times. Hoover surely knows how to play with one’s emotions and feelings. Read this one and find out if Quinn and Graham make their love alive or will it die after seven years of togetherness?

4. Am I Normal Yet? by Holly Bourne

Published in August 2015, Am I Normal Yet? beautifully tackles mental health issues and feminism in one go. Evie, a 16-year-old not so normal teen who suffers from OCD and Anxiety goes to college and try to be completely normal while ignoring and suppressing her illness. Facing down issues, making more loyal friends, and learning new things about feminism, is Evie actually Normal or is she ignoring her illness in the seek of being Normal? A really amazing book Am I Normal Yet? is some of the gems you should seriously read.

5. Austenistan Edited by Laaleen Sukhera

This collection contains seven short stories inspired by world-known author Jane Austen and set in present-time Pakistan, Austenistan was originally published on 6th December 2017. It is a compilation of romantic, amusing, humorous, inspiring, and sometimes tragic love stories that pay tribute to Jane in their own unique and native way. Give this one a read and enjoy the Pakistani and Desi Austenistan.
