Now, finally, the days approach when we finally get to read the details about this historical production.
The hero will be Turkish
Reportedly, the producers have been talking. Dr. Kashif Ansari and Dr. Junaid Ali Shah – the team of Ansari&Shah films, shared details about the historical project. Likewise, so did Adnan Siddiqui, the executive producer. Apparently, 75 percent of the cast in the much-awaited drama series will be Turkish. So what about the hero? We are more than curious to find out his secret identity. Turns out, he will be Turkish as well, but his name is still not revealed.
Some scenes to be shot in Pakistan
We also found out that the first season of the drama on Saladin will be shot in Turkey. The second season may be shot in Pakistan. Wow! This is such exciting news! To have an episode being shot in our country would be out of this world. As we all know this drama venture is a joint partnership between Turkey’s Akli Films and the aforementioned Ansari&Shah productions. There is no representation whatsoever from any government. We also know that the two main languages for this series will be Urdu and Turkish in the dialects of the actors.
Anyone can audition for a role
Yes! You read that right, anyone can audition for a role, provided they fit the description and show capability. Whoever makes it to the cast gets to travel to Turkey for training and become part of this historical project. Although the series release date is March 2022, it will comprise three seasons. As real as it gets
The drama on Saladin will be as close to reality as it can get. To get the historical facts right, the screenwriters have signed up several Turkish historians, researchers, and authors. This is because an authentic focus has been kept for the non-Muslim audience for which this show will reveal for the first time the historical figure of Saladin. Further, this production intends to depict themes of ‘Quran, history and religious harmony’ for the audience too. In doing so the facts that Quran was used to ‘govern empires’ will be portrayed. Sublime! Can’t wait to actually see it on the screens!
