This week, nostalgia reigned supreme when the Harry Potter cast reunited for the 20th anniversary. TV special Return to Hogwarts, which aired on HBO Max on January 1. Emma Watson found meeting again with her Harry Potter castmates “an unexpected thrill,” and director Christopher Columbus recalled the movie sets as “the greatest playground in the world.” Emma Watson and Emma Roberts joke about the ‘Return to Hogwarts.
While many fans were transported back to the mystical world of wizardry and magic, others pointed out a flaw in the reunion. Things took a turn when a childhood photograph of the performers was projected onto the screen. Instead of Watson, the creators chose to release a photo of Emma Roberts, a Hollywood actress!
Both Emmas, for the most part, are unfazed by the mix-up. Watson recognise the mistake by uploading a photo of a young, adorable, Mickey Mouse’d Emma Roberts who suppose to be Watson. Which initially noticed by Potterheads. “I was NOT this cute,” she said in the caption, addressing Roberts with the hashtag #EmmaSistersForever. “Haha!” said the Wild Child actor on Instagram Stories. “I don’t believe that!” she exclaimed, tagging the actor from Beauty and the Beast.

The creators of Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts earlier admitted to using the incorrect image in a statement to Entertainment Weekly, saying, “Fans of Harry Potter, you see! You alerted us to an editing error involving a mislabeled photograph. A new version will be available soon.”
Actors Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy), Gary Oldman (Sirius Black), Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange), and others join Radcliffe, Grint, Watson (Hermione), and Columbus for the reunion. Watson admitted that she overcome with emotion during the long-awaited reunion. “It’s been years since some of us have seen one other.” So far, it’s been a thrill. “It was a pleasant surprise,” she remarked.
Rowling does not appear in person for the reunion programme, although she does appear on archive video. In the recent year, the author’s views on transgender matters have sparked debate, with some in the LGBTQ community accusing her of transphobia.
The TV special was one of several 20th anniversary events plan by Warner Bros. Which included a TV quiz game hosted by Helen Mirren for Potter fans. As well as guest appearances by several of the actors. Celebrity fans, including comedians Pete Davidson and Jay Leno.
