Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced people would have to pay for a “Meta Verified” badge account. It will help to increase visibility on the platform, prioritize customer support, and more.
For this week, this feature is rolling out in New Zealand, and Australia but the company has decided to it will be implemented rest of the countries soon.
“This week we are starting to roll out Meta Verified accounts a subscription service that lets you verify accounts with a government ID. You will get a blue badge and extra impersonation protection against accounts claiming to be you, and you will have direct access to customer support”. Zuckerberg posted.

- You have to submit your government ID.
- Your name and photo should match your government ID.
A critic says this new feature is as similar to Elon Musk’s $8 per month version for Twitter blue tick.
