Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has withdrawn middle-order batsman, Haider Ali, from the national squad for the tours of England and West Indies.
The development comes after Haider Ali and Umaid Asif, both of Peshawar Zalmi, met with people from outside the bio-secure bubble ahead of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6 final against Multan Sultans.
According to a statement by PCB, Sohaib Maqsood has replaced Haider Ali who has been suspended for breaching the PSL bio-secure bubble.
The middle-order batsman has been rewarded with a return to the national team for his exceptional performance for Multan Sultans during PSL 6.
So far in PSL 6, Sohaib has scored 363 runs in 11 matches with an average of 40.33 and a strike rate of just under 153.
The 34-year-old has featured in 26 ODIs and 20 T20Is for Pakistan. He last appeared for the national team in 2016 against New Zealand.
Pakistan cricket team will depart for England tomorrow. The team will play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is from 8 to 20 July. 5 T20Is and 2 Test matches have been scheduled for the West Indies tour that will be played from 27 July to 24 August.
Meanwhile, Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans will lock horns in the PSL 6 final later tonight. As Sultans eye its first PSL trophy, a disadvantaged Zalmi without two-star players will do its best to win its second PSL final.
