These workers often face exploitation and abuse from their employers. With no legal protection or recourse. The lack of a minimum wage also has wider implications. For the economy and society as a whole.

Low wages mean that workers have less money to spend on basic necessities. Which can impact local businesses and the wider economy. It can also lead to a widening income gap. With the wealthiest in society benefiting at the expense of the poorest.

To address this issue, there needs to be stronger enforcement of minimum wage regulations in Pakistan. Employers who violate these regulations should held accountable. And workers should be given the means to seek legal redress if they are not paid fairly.
