KARACHI: Mango exporters in Pakistan are aiming for a larger share of the US market, as exports of the Indian fruit have decreased as a result of the Covid-19 epidemic. Mango Eporters is going to target US Market.
Taking advantage of the circumstance, a Pakistani company sold a record number of mangoes through e-commerce in the United States this season, at a far lower price than in traditional Pakistani markets.
During the mango season, which began on May 25, 2021, Galaxy Fresh Produce exported roughly 200 tonnes of mangoes to its sibling company Pakam Trading in the United States, earning $600,000.
Pakistan’s mango exporters are targeting to take a bigger slice of the US market where shipments of the Indian fruit have contracted due to the impact of Covid-19 pandemic.

According to firm Director Zulfiqar Momin, has been very positive, and the online market is currently getting stronger.
Along with Chaunsa, Dasehri, Langra, and Anwar Ratol were export this year. The company also tested a Begumphali variety that was comparable to a famous mango type in India and found it to be satisfactory.
Momin plans to strengthen his position in the US market in the coming year.
In the US market, Pakistani mango exporters were up against fierce competition from their Mexican counterparts, but stakeholders were optimistic that they would be able to maintain their market share.
According to Momin, Pakistani exporters have found it difficult to compete in the US due to high freight costs and inexpensive Mexican mangoes.
