Actor Sumbul Shahid, the sister of Bushra Ansari and Asma Abbas, died in Lahore in May after a long battle with Covid-19. Sumbul was on a ventilator, struggling for her life after getting the fatal illness. Both Bushra and Asma had been urging that their supporters pray for her health on a regular basis. Now, during a recent interview on Wasim Badami’s show, the Dolly Ki Ayegi Baraat actress revealed that her mother had yet to learn about Sumbul’s death. Ansari informed Badami, “My mother won’t be able to go through the grief.”
“We informed her that Sumbul is stranded in San Francisco and that all flights have been cancelled as a result of Covid-19.” She then explained how she would phone her mother and pretend to be Sumbul because their voices are so similar. “My mother is practically blind, and she has lost the ability to distinguish between us. Her mind, on the other hand, is still sharp “she said. “Right now, our top priority is to keep her healthy. It’s difficult to comprehend how much our lives have changed.”

“A few months after Sumbul died away, there was a wedding of a dear friend’s grandson,” Ansari said in response. ‘I’ve been hearing your grief-stricken voice for a long time,’ she said when she called. I don’t want to see you any longer like that. ‘At the wedding, you will do nothing but enjoy yourself.’ So I danced with Azaan, who is like a child to me. People were so excited about it that they made a big deal out of it.
