Google Pixel Fold Review

Abdullah Khan June 30, 2023

Pixelfold is an efficient and friendly device that will give you the pleasure of using it with full confidence. The Google Pixel Fold is much better than many other devices. It is expensive, heavy, and a great instrument to experience. Google Pixel Fold Review.

Google Pixel Fold Review

It’s the first foldable device with amazing camera quality that everyone can trust. At the same time, its wider outer screen fits apps more naturally than Samsung’s tall and thin cover screen.

The Google pixel fold is more user-friendly and accessible than the Z-fold 4. It’s a friendly device for first-time foldable users.

However, there are some things to consider before buying. Its battery life was negligible, and the phone drains more than it should on standby.

One thing worth noting is its long-term durability: first-generation Google hardware and all. Plus, it’s a phone and a small tablet in one device.

It gives an amazing experience to use it in a cafe, open the phone and play a game on the big screen. Then, folding it back to return home is simply amazing.

Design

Google took the lead by signing a flat, thin, foldable phone that closes flat like a book with no visible gap between the sides. Indeed, this is an impressive feat that Samsung has yet to achieve.

The Google Pixel art feels like solid hardware. The hinge is also quite stiff, but it opens and closes without a sound and supports the phone up to 180 degrees in all settings.

When opening the phone, the 180 has a stop that you have to press slightly to open fully. Similarly, the Samsung Fold, the Pixel Fold, also manages an IPX8 rating, with the “X” indicating no dust resistance; therefore, it can provide protection against complete submergence.

In addition, there is a Gorilla Glass Victus front and back, a stainless steel hinge, and a shiny aluminum frame. On the other hand, the Pixel fold is heavy as hell; It weighs 283 grams.

Seventy grams heavier than the Pixel 7 Pro and 20 grams heavier than the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The weight is more visible and more comfortable when the phone is open, and the weight is distributed between the two hands.

However, it was noted that the factory-installed screen protector has a small hairline scratch. However, repairing a foldable phone is more difficult and expensive than a traditional phone.

Google offers a two-year protection plan for $279, which is a reasonable package more than the $199 price of other similar phones, like the Pixel 7 Pro.

When it comes to the screen, the external one is a 5.8-inch 1080p 120 Hz panel and the internal one is a 7.6-inch diagonal 2208 × 1840 OLED with a 120 Superior refresh rate. It features a full-brightness mode that is bright enough to use outdoors in direct sunlight. At the same time, the inner screen protector is highly reflective.

Google has released several apps that work with the Fold open in tablet mode. Users can easily enjoy Gmail, YouTube, photos, and other application

ns. Chrome has a desktop interface that competes with tabs at the top of the window and can load full versions of websites. Instagram is a phone-sized app with black bars on both sides: Facebook, Twitter, Messenger, and even Google-owned Fitbit.

Users can easily double the empty space on either side to quickly swipe the app left, right, or center.

TikTok runs vertical videos in the center of the screen and uses the extra space on either side to move all the text at the top of the video. However, many display issues with other apps are due to Google’s choice to give the internal display a landscape.

Meanwhile, apps with black bars in the phone’s default position look normal when the device is rotated 90 degrees.

Google provides a user-friendly interface to run two applications side-by-side. Users can pull up the taskbar by sliding the handle at the bottom of the screen and dragging the app to the edge of the screen that the user wants to launch. The two apps are almost the same size on the cover screen.

The Google Pixel Fold uses Google’s Tensor G2 chipset paired with 12GB of RAM. The base model includes a whopping 256GB of storage, and Google promises five years of security updates for the Pixel Fold.

The Pixel Fold offers an incredibly versatile camera system for an entertainment and productivity phone. It offers:

  • 48-megapixel f/1.7 main camera with OIS
  • 10.8-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide image
  • 10.8MP f/3.1 5x telephoto with OIS
  • 9.5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 cover display
  • 8-megapixel f/2.0 selfie camera

The camera is pretty good by foldable standards. In terms of image quality, it delivers color and brightness that deliver relatively better images. It tolerates weak light well; although objects move a bit, AMD’s night mode is comfortable. On the other hand, users can easily shoot portraits with the main camera and frame them with the front screen. The front camera is a great way to take selfies and keep it in your back pocket.

It offers 4K/60p with all rear cameras, and HDR 10 is available if you drop it to 30p. It also offers modest cropping when video stabilization is enabled. It has a better camera system compared to other foldable devices.

Pixlivolt is the most anticipated phone of the year. Pixel fold weight is an important part; when assembled, it is inconvenient to use for a very long time. Pixel folding is far from devastating, which is what anyone can say about Samsung’s or Motorola’s Frost folding tests.

Google did basic research before launching a foldable model and learned from the failures of previous models.
