HEC warns: Beware of Illegal Universities and Colleges

Faiza Haq September 7, 2021

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) warns students and parents about certain institutes that are illegal in Pakistan. Students and parents wishing to pursue higher education must check on the HEC website for the list of approved campuses in the public and private sector.

The HEC

As the name suggests, the Higher Education Commission is a body that makes rules about education in Pakistan. Especially the talented youngsters, who cannot afford education and are looking for guidance, need a system which assists them in selecting the best institute to further their career. Therefore, the HEC, is such a legislative body which funds, oversees, regulates and accredits further education schools in the country.

Illegal Institutes

The HEC warns against several illegal institutes which are delivering educational packages to vulnerable students. Such fake setups are unable to meet the HEC quality assurance standards nor are they able to provide accredited academic degrees. Further, in the eyes of international statutory educational bodies such counterfeits are unacceptable. Therefore, the Higher Education Commission has issued a warning on social media to be wary of all such institutes. Because their degrees will go unrecognized.

List of Fake Institutes

Please visit the Higher Education Commission website here for the complete list of all such illegal institutes in operation in the country. It is sad for our country that there are many so-called educational premises that are based upon forbidden principals.

Go for HEC accredited

Thus, the Higher Education Commission has urged the students and parents alike to thoroughly check for the legal status of the campus in which they are registering. Only opt for those institutes which have been listed as permissible here by the HEC as they are accredited. Since, only HEC institutes assure international standards and are responsible for upgrading universities for higher learning, research and development.

Conclusion

Therefore, dear students and parents, please visit the Higher Education Commission website for list of recognized universities and also visit the list of fake ones before you decide to register for any institute. This will save you trouble in the future or any hassle that can come about by taking a wrong turn.
