Rights of the Transgender in Pakistan
Transgender? “A person whose sense of personal identity and gender does not correspond with their birth sex” Well, in our society Transgender stands for “Nothing”. Right? Cuz. Duh! It’s the Trans genders we are talking about nobody (the majority) gives a damn when it comes to them.

A few days back while using a social media platform I came across some accounts that are raising their voices against animal abuse which is a highly appreciating effort to do. When I look around I don’t see any single person talking about the Rights of the Trans genders. Wow! Even Animals have more respect for them when they treat even worse than animals while they are living human beings. Our people (majority) think that the Trans genders known as “KHWAJA SARA” in our country deserve no respect, love, proper education, proper medical facilities, jobs, justice not even a proper life.

Now, ride with me on a journey of “Life of Trans genders in Pakistan”.
Now, I ask you people has anybody ever raised their voice to at least protect them from this physical abuse? They are not a female or male. Are not they even human beings? Their health is another issue no proper attention is given to them in the Hospitals. Coming to education, even though there are no such steps taken for the education of Trans genders in any special schools or institutes for them nothing is done for the progress of their educational field due to which there is a very high rate of illiteracy in them and according to a statistics there is a population of more than 10,000 Trans genders in Pakistan including the rural and urban areas. 2017 was the first time in the country’s history that the Tarns gender community was counted separately by the enumerators.

Pakistani feminists should take a stand:
Pakistani feminists should take a stand in favor of the Trans genders. But sadly, there’s no one to support them. Being an Islamic Republic State this is a point of great shame and guilt for all of us. Some of you will think that maybe this complaints bashing has gone a lot. Trust me there is much more to go if I have several more hours or days to write about it. Government College University Lahore (GCU) has taken a step for trans genders for allocating seats for them specially. Lahore keeps it up.

I wonder if we read books like The Fault in Our Stars, while on the other hand, most of us think that it’s the fault of the Transgenders themselves. We are celebrating Independence Day from 14th August 1947, but, Alas! We’re still standing on the same rock today on which we were standing 73 years back.
Marvia Malik
She is the very First Transgender News Anchor in Pakistan. Or we should say the very first educated successful Transgender of Pakistan, a girl who is trying continuously her best in every way to change her fate. She went through many tough times in her career paying for higher studies, and finding a job to support her finances. Marvia Malik herself stated that,
“Our society treats the transgender people shamefully, degrading them, denying them jobs, laughing at them, and taunting them. I want to change that.”
We have no idea how many hearts and lives we are ruining with our illicit and harsh behavior toward them. The point of sharing this all with you was to show you that Trans genders are living, breathing human beings who also have feelings that we crumple under intentionally. They just need a little bit of kindness, love, affection, and help from our side to make a way to move in our society and live a completely normal life like us. Marvia Malik, we are so PROUD OF YOU!
