I don’t know about you but I am crazy about Kdramas ever since I’ve started watching them. I think their different from other series and what really makes them different is how much depth they have to offer. Not all of them have happy endings but let me put this out there, every ending is satisfying in its own way.
For today’s article, I decided to do a post on 3 of my favourite Kdramas I’ve watched and every beginner will enjoy these as well. Okay. So here’s my list:
- Itaewon Class
Itaewon Class showcases a story of a boy named Park Saeroyi who is an ex-convict. The show shows us his journey as he begins to avenge his father’s death and goes to lengths he never thought he would when he was just a high school student. Itaewon Class captures the essence of the corporate world of South Korea and the struggle that exists in that world to reach to the top. The best part is that every character in it has a lot of depth. This show is a banger and will definitely get you hooked!

2. It’s Okay to Not be Okay
For all my readers out there who are a fan of whimsical and dark stories, this one is for you. It’s Okay to Not be Okay circles around Ko Munyeong who is and author of children’s book. The show illustrates beautifully how Ko Munyeong has had a troublesome childhood that has made her the stone-cold person that she is. But, she slowly starts believing that the world is not so messed up when she meets Moon Gangtae who is a mental health worker and has an older autistic brother that he takes care of. The story unfolds with time and the show starts getting interesting with all the unpredictable situations. This is one of those shows that’ll make you really think and question yourself. It is thought provoking and keeps you hooked.
3. Scarlet Heart:Ryeo AKA Moon Lovers
AAAAA! Okay so this last one is also one of my favourites. This show is a whole rollercoaster ride. Believe me when I say that. It is not your average kdrama and is full of plot twists. This is a period/historical drama that shows us the times of the Goryeo Dynasty. The story is about a girl named Go Ha Jin (present day IU) which wakes up after an eclipse in the Goryeon Dynasty Era as Lady Hae So.
Her cousin at that time is married to the 8th prince out of the 14 princes. The story reveals the relationship of Hae So with all of the prince’s and shows how Hae So struggles to fit in the Goryeo Dynasty even when she doesn’t know a lot about it. With time, Hae So soon starts remember of what she learned about in her past life about the Goryeo Dynasty and starts to encode her purpose as to why she woke up in this era.
